Products – Glass Cladding Panels, Architectural Glass, Laminated Glass
Project Type – Commercial
Location – London
Main Contractor – Brymor Group
Harlow Glass has completed the installation of bespoke glass cladding panels to IBM’s HQ on London South Bank. The design was developed from the original architects design intent. This was carried out in close collaboration with the main contractor and steel fabricator. The design utilises spider fitting to hold large glazed panels in place. The laminated glass includes a satin etched pane to provide an opaque finish. This provides a diffusing effect in both the vertically installed screens and the horizontally installed soffit. The panels overhead required full pre-fabrication to meet the tight construction programme. The installation was completed without needing to replace any panels due to incorrect sizing.
The project also included cladding panels to an existing mezzanine floor. These panels were installed using head and base channel fixed to secondary steelwork. The laminated panels included a digitally printed interlayer carrying the familiar IBM barcode branding. The printed pattern helps to provide privacy to staff working on the mezzanine level
Through the carefully managed drawing and production process Harlow Glass delivered the project in-line with the programme and on budget.
