Products – Glazed Screens, Structural Glass Shopfronts
Project Type – Public
Location – London
Main Contractor – Sherlock
As part of a large extension to the Jubilee Place shopping mall in the heart of Canary Wharf, Harlow Glass completed the installation of both straight and curved structural glass shopfronts. The project involved the installation of full height frameless glass fronts. The design of the glazing had to match the existing appearance of the original mall. These were supported by structural glass fins behind the panels. The fins are suspended from the ceiling and utilise bespoke glass clamps to support the fronts. Full height frameless glass doors were also installed with head and base rails. These rails protect the base of the doors and incorporate locks for security.
Alongside the main structural glass shopfronts, architectural glass balustrades were also installed. The balustrades were installed frameless to match the shopfronts. They also included offset handrail and top caps in a matching finish. The balustrades were designed and installed to withstand the high loading associated with public locations. The projects continues Harlow Glass’s successful reputation of providing high quality glazing within the Docklands development area in London.
