Frameless Balustrading

The optimal glass balustrading solution providing a seamless ribbon of glass.  The system utilises a structural base shoe which can be mounted in varied conditions to achieve the required height.  The balustrade can then be capped with a continuous handrail or for the completely frameless effect structural laminated glass can be used meaning either a minimal capping cap be fitted or the glass edge left exposed.  Harlow Glass can provide advice on the most appropriate base shoe to achieve your desired look.

Framed Balustrading

A post and infill system is the more traditional glass balustrade, but this does not mean appearance is compromised.  The range of framed balustrade systems that Harlow Glass can source from the marketplace means that options for designers are almost limitless.  When combined with various handrail options, and the potential to introduce laminated glass with a range of colours and even materials within the panel a very exciting balustrade can still be achieved.

Point Fixed Balustrading

Point fixed balustrading utilises mechanically fixed bolts through the glass panel to stand the panel off of its substrate.  Typically these panels are used on staircases and around voids in buildings where the glass can be used to hide the build up of the stair of floor area.  However this method of fixing can be used in nearly all situations as long as calculations are completed to confirm the performance of the glass.  Harlow Glass can undertake the full structural and detailed design of your balustrade providing piece of mind.

Juliette Balustrading

Juliette balconies are now a common feature of flatted developments, and as windows and doors are maximised on scheme, the focus is not on ensuring the balustrade does not interrupt the views.  Harlow Glass can provide market leading systems fixed in a variety of ways to ensure that the glass meets all regulation requirements while providing an invisible barrier to the home behind it.

Full Height Screens

Providing privacy and a windbreak at high levels are important design considerations.  Harlow Glass can provide a range of glass solutions that can either protect a view for privacy, or simply screen from the elements leaving the views uninterrupted.  As with all our products we can provide early design input to ensure that structural support is installed in the correct places to support the required panels.
